Xeomin- the Botox Alternative
Xeomin treatments have only recently been approved for cosmetic use in the United States, but it had been providing positive results in the UK since 2008. The product has been purified and simplified to maximize its results. Most importantly, it is free of additives that can sometimes inhibit the effectiveness of Botox or Dysport. That is to say, it has earned the nickname “Naked Botox”.
Just like Botox, Xeomin works to target muscles that cause wrinkles through frequent muscle contractions. Temporarily slowing down or “paralyzing” these muscles can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, which usually becomes less visible with treatments. Because Xeomin is free of proteins that can limit the effectiveness of the toxin, Xeomin can potentially last longer between treatments than Botox.
We HIGHLY recommend our patients to switch to this alternative when effects from regular treatments with Botox or Dysport wear off sooner than previous treatments.
Differences in Neuromodulator Treatment
While there are minor differences between Botox Cosmetic, Dysport, and Xeomin, each product produces similar results. However, every person is different- each product may or may not work best for you, so ask your provider to help you decide which treatment is right for your needs.
The neuromodulators as a whole cannot treat every type of wrinkle, so your injector may also recommend that you compliment your treatment with an injectable dermal filler such as the Juvederm or Restylane lines.
You have many options for treating wrinkles, so choosing among them can be challenging. Our expert injectors will explain the benefits and drawbacks of each treatment and help you decide which is best for you. You can trust in their skill and experience as professionals when you choose Xeomin in South Florida.
